SEWING GOALS: A COMPLETE WARDROBE

After all my talk of sewing what I need versus what I want, I decided to make a list of both to see where it all stands. These are a work in progress, but I can see already that I should be rearranging my schedule to make the complete wardrobe projects a priority. I don't want to take the fun out of my sewing, just have a clear idea of when I'm sewing something I really need or more of an extra statement piece.

I'm in the process of deciding what to refashion and what to chuck before the big move, hence my earlier question of how to refashion for the better... knowing I can keep old clothes as fabric makes the decisions all that much harder. I guess I will first have to organize what is not reusable/refashionable out of the stuff I dont wear before I can see what is left. This wouldn't be so difficult if I wasn't such a hoarder!

  1. I may be biased, but I think no wardrobe is complete without a Peter Pan collar top! I would switch categories for sure. :)

I am TOTALLY a hoarder, and had to go through years of clothing not too long ago when I moved all of my stuff from my parent's house and my current clothes together into one closet. Also, I lost a quite a bit of weight before I learned how to sew, so I donated a lot of items.

The one thing I can tell you about letting go and not hoarding is not once have I thought about something I donated and thought "I wish I still had it now." Honestly, I can't even remember what I gave away!

    1. I think you are right! I have wanted one for so long. I'm going to donate for sure, like you I have clothes that don't fit just taking up space in my tiny apartment. I also hoard packaging, I have unbelievable amounts of crumpled gift tissue paper taking over the corner of my bedroom!

  2. I like your waredrobe plan! I'm trying to come up with my own right now and go through what I already have. What you are planning sounds like fun.
